Sunday, July 21st, 2019Crimson fade becomes the black
twinkled dots from cataclysmic flak
hang still on celestial thread
from a silent void once wounded
Spectacle of ancient memory
inversed braille in cyphered glory
contemplate chaotic happenstance
when spied in ghostly ignorance
Eyes fooled by druidic physics
blinkered gaze can’t spy the glitch
snails of light trapped by time
as infinitum dusts the nightly chime
Blind by day, asleep at night
rare are we and breath so slight
humanity soothed in vain plaudit
locked in generational mnemonic
Our female rock will fade and die
to join the grain of spatial eye
what beings will perplex the star
that bore our fruit in cosmic tar?

Microcosm
Sunday, July 21st, 2019In a puddle patterns are repeating
In the stars the patterns are completing
Gravity in waves are meeting
Patterns over awed and far too fleeting
Moonlight
Sunday, July 21st, 2019It was within your dappled light
and chapped lips
that I found all the beauty
the world
had ever needed.
I found myself blinded by your essence,
as it stroked between
horizons and had the power
to let life be still.
You caressed time, limitless seconds, in a way
I couldn’t even bear,
sometimes too exquisite to be
a part of, to be worthy of.
And yet,
through all your wonder,
our time together is short,
so short it must
be punishment for crimes
we all must wear.
We may only look upon you
fleetingly,
but such glittering beauty
is worth far more than
an eternity.

The Maiden’s Dream
Sunday, July 21st, 2019Green and leafy forest light
Watching over maidens plight
Purple night dark and cold
Witches plot, evil bold
Red rose lips cold to touch
Drank the poison with her lunch
Black and dark the misery sleep
Hoping waiting faeries peep
Greying hags place dragon there
The maiden sleeps in its care
Silvered moonbeams lead the way
show the beauty where she lay
Golden hair and silken gown
Waiting for her lover’s crown
Chestnut hair and tempered blade
Prince comes dragon slayed
Ivory skin smooth and soft
He gently lifts her aloft
Pink lips to hers kiss
Lost in lovers passioned bliss
Brown eyes of liquid grace
Open now – her perfect face
Orange freckles she sees abound
Feels her heart begin to pound
Blue eyes crystal clear
Proposes marriage without fear

Onward to the Edge
Sunday, July 21st, 2019A code within a code
A mystery that is never solved
It is the universe that unfolds
Showing shadows of worlds untold
And so we look, and so we find
Questions to answer another time
Tides
Sunday, July 21st, 2019Her face is round,
her days are old;
the Moon is sad
for she is cold.
She needs a cloak
to keep her warm,
to wrap around
her ghostly form.
She reaches out
across the sky,
with silver fingers
long and lithe,
to touch the cloth
she has in sight
so far across
the deep dark night.
A cloth so fluid
scintillating,
iridescent,
ever changing.
Abyssal hues
and liquid form,
silkier
than the finest shawl,
yet heavier even
than thick brocade
with constant play
of light and shade.
She pulls the cloth
towards her face,
but planet Earth
who has no grace,
has riches more
than she could need,
is mighty vain
and full of greed.
She pulls it back
towards her shores,
that deep blue ocean
she adores.
Poor Moon is left
all cold and bare
because her neighbour
just won’t share.
And so sad Moon
will try once more.
The two will tug
for ever more.
